New York Route 97 clings to the cliffside near Sparrows Nest, N.Y. Pull-off areas allow the traveler to admire the view.

Fifty cents to cross buys a journey into history at Dingman's Ferry. The last remaining private bridge to span the river was origionally chartered in 1834. Toll takers still stand on the center line and collect fares, rain, snow or shine.

A relic of the abandoned Tock's Island project, this property in the Delaware Water Gap Wild and Scenic Area would have been submerged by the rising waters. It was purchased by the Federal Government in the seventies.

Interstate Route 80 hugs the steep New Jersey hills and crosses the river at Delaware Water Gap.
